TINA ALEXIS ALLEN (GLAAD AWARD NOMINEE) was recently seen Off-Broadway at The Cherry Lane Theatre workshopping her solo show, SECRETS OF A HOLY FATHER. Other Off-Broadway credits include Lydia in James McManus’ UNDERGROUND at The Beckett Theatre and Susan in the premiere of Charles Mee’s FIRE ISLAND where the New York Times praised her work, “Ms. Allen is an actor of great conviction.”
Highlights from her film work include writing, directing and acting opposite Teri Garr in “God Out the Window;” the Slamdance Jury Prize Nominated, “Phantom Pain,” which she starred in and produced; and the indie films Last Rite; Bushwick; and Molly. She is slated to play the lead role in Chris Stetson’s upcoming feature film, Who You Know.
Tina made her television debut on “Touched By An Angel” and can be seen as “Dr. Mills” in The Onion News on IFC. She continues to write and develop projects for film and television. Her screenplay, “Bittersweet,” was a finalist for the Sundance Writer’s Lab in 2007 and she is currently developing a script for television based on her solo play, Secrets of a Holy Father.
In Los Angeles, Tina wrote and performed her 12 character one woman show, IRRESISTIBLE, in which critics said, “her character work rivals that of Lily Tomlin.” She was nominated for a GLAAD AWARD along side Jane Lynch for Best Ensemble Performance in The Break-Up Notebook.
