Singer/songwriter Jay Brannan is a New Yorker by way of Texas, California, and several stops in between. He first made headlines as an actor in John Cameron Mitchell’s indie film sensation “Shortbus”, offering an international platform for his first full-length musical release, entitled goddamned, which made its debut as the No. 25 overall Top Album on iTunes.

One Billboard-charting covers EP, three world tours, and a slew of YouTube videos later, Brannan brings us Rob Me Blind, his second full-length album of originals, produced by Grammy-winning producer David Kahne (Regina Spektor, Paul McCartney, The Bangles, Lana Del Rey, etc.).

Brannan’s tenor voice combined with painfully honest lyrics surrounding taboo subjects has caught the attention of critics at such influential outlets as Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, and The New York Times, which proclaimed that Brannan “makes even the saddest lyrics easy on the ear.”

John Cantwell (Connie Slocum) is from Tallulah, LA, and started performing in Dallas, TX, after receiving a Bachelor’s of Music degree from a Southern Baptist college. He spent most of the ‘90s in New York City performing in Off and Off-Off Broadway productions (Making Porn, Blood Orgy Of The Carnival Queens) before joining the critically acclaimed sketch comedy trio The Nellie Olesons (Logo’s Wisecrack, Will & Grace). With the Nellies, John has created over ten popular shows garnering a loyal cult following all over the U.S. and Canada. The trio has a rich history performing in Provincetown since the 1990′s at venues like The Crown & Anchor, Vixen & The U.U. Meetinghouse. After moving to Hollywood in 1999, he began working in film (Legally Blonde, Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist), television (Pushing Daisies, Nip/Tuck, The Riches) and theater (Saltine Crackers, his debut as a playwright, was performed at Highways in 2005). He is currently at work on Love, Connie 2: Electric Boogaloo and Love, Connie 3D simultaneously.

DAN FISHBACK has been writing and performing in New York City since 2003. Major works include The Material World (2012), thirtynothing (2011) and You Will Experience Silence (2009), all directed by Stephen Brackett at Dixon Place. Fishback received the Franklin Furnace Fund grant in 2010 and the Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artists in 2007. He is a resident artist at the Hemispheric Institute for Performance & Politics at NYU (2012), and at BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange (2010-2012), and has enjoyed previous residencies at Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony. Previous works include No Direction Homo (P.S. 122, 2006), Please Let Me Love You (Dixon Place, 2006), Waiting for Barbara (Galapagos Art Space, 2006), boi with an i (Collective: Unconscious, 2004), and Assholes Speak Louder Than Words (Sidewalk Cafe, 2004). Also a performing songwriter, Fishback began his music career in the East Village’s anti-folk scene. His band, Cheese On Bread, has toured Europe and North America in support of their two full-length albums, “Maybe Maybe Maybe Baby” (2004) and “The Search for Colonel Mustard” (2007), the latter of which was re-issued in Japan in 2010 on Moor Works Records. As a solo artist, Fishback has released several recordings, including “Sweet Chastity” (2005, produced by César Alvarez of The Lisps), and his latest, “The Mammal Years” (2012). He is currently a member of the community group QuORUM (Queers Organizing for Radical Unity and Mobilization), and sits on the Selection Committee for the Pop-Up Museum of Queer History. Dan blogs at thematerialworld.tumblr.com; his regular website is www.danfishback.com.

“Dan Fishback seems so much like a nerdy close friend that audience members have to restrain themselves from responding.” – The New Yorker

“The show is essential as a memorial, ensuring the younger gay community learns its own history and the bold legacy of those they never knew.” – Flavorpill

“The Dan Fishback experience is sort of like the Beyonce experience. Except, with Dan, neuroses replace the wigs, glitz and glamour.” – Gayletter

“‘thirtynothing is smart, honest, and heartfelt. Dan Fishback is also those things, and, it should be noted, funny. Effortlessly, unceasingly funny.” – The New York Examiner

“Fishback has a Kushnerian sense for the complexities of historical memory.” – The Village Voice

“thirtynothing is one of the most powerful performance pieces I have ever seen.” – Kimya Dawson

Cole Escola, aka “the funny guy” (The New York Times), is best known for his TV show Jeffery & Cole Casserole on the Logo Network which came about after a series of internet videos he created (with Jeffery Self) became popular. Cole performs regularly as various older women, himself, or some combination of the two all over NYC (including Our Hit Parade, the almost-Broadway production of YANK!, La Mama presents Jukebox Jackie directed by Scott Wittman, and his one-man nightclub act at Joe’s Pub and Feinstein’s at the Regency), as well as appearing on television (including his Emmy-ignored performance as a special needs teenager on Law & Order). He is the self-described “Mabel Normand of YouTube.”

Erin Markey was recently diagnosed with “magnetic diva aggression” (The New York Times). She starred in the site-specific NYC premiere of Tennessee Williams’ Green Eyes (Hudson Hotel, Ames Hotel), and in May 2012, received Boston’s Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress. She regularly appeared on LOGO network’s Jeffery and Cole Casserole and performs monthly in Our Hit Parade at Joe’s Pub. As a performance and cabaret artist, she has appeared at The New Museum, Comix, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Highline Ballroom, and Deja Vú Showgirls and Love Boutique in Ypsilanti, MI. Her solo musical, Puppy Love: A Stripper’s Tail was produced at PS 122 and toured the nation with the Sex Workers Art Show. Her newest musical, The Dardy Family Home Movies by Stephen Sondheim by Erin Markey was commissioned by and premiered with the San Francisco Film Society in December 2011. Featured on the cover of The New York Press, her work was described as “a tangled mash-up of humor, horror, brains and balls.”

-Nick Curley, New York Press“Markey, in particular, has an ominously intense sexiness. When she laughs, it bubbles up without quite spilling over. You dread running into her in a dark alley, but you kinda wish for it, too.”
–Elisabeth Vincentelli, New York Post”Markey, a unique and explosive talent, fits no mold I know. She’s got a trumpet-bright voice, a predator’s smile, no discernible boundaries and an air of real danger—when she played all of Green Eyes in the raw, she still looked like she could beat the stuffing out of half the front row. There is nothing, nothing she won’t say, and despite the obvious eroticism of the performance, no stripshow ever boasted this sense of hilarious menace and unleashed power.”
-Helen Shaw, Time Out New York

-“Erin Markey delivers a fearless and spellbinding performance…A study in lethal ambiguity, Markey’s every look and utterance is open to multiple shades of interpretation. Her southern-accented voice drips with insinuation, warning, promise, threat.”
